Meet the team: Ralf Hemecker, Key Account Manager for JEMA

Company Life

When speaking with Ralf Hemecker, one immediately senses a calm depth of experience and a genuine openness, qualities that have shaped both his international journey and his leadership style. With a background rooted in curiosity, technical expertise, and a strong interest in people, Ralf has built a career that bridges cultures, technologies, and perspectives.

Could you tell us a bit more about your background?

I studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Dortmund, with a focus that naturally leaned toward energy topics. At that time, the educational system was different: there were no bachelor’s or master’s degrees yet, you graduated as a Diplom-Ingenieur. My diploma thesis was already centered on wind power, which gave me an early connection to renewable energy.

When entering the backup power sector, I worked for Ericsson in Düsseldorf, a Swedish company. That role gave me the opportunity to travel for the first time on international business, especially to Stockholm. My link to Sweden actually goes back even further: during my studies, I completed an apprenticeship in Sweden, a period that left a lasting impression on me. The country played an important part at the beginning of my career and still today, I have a strong appreciation for it.

What led you to JEMA? What attracted you to the company?

Before joining JEMA, I spent many years working closely with the CE+T Group: first as both a supplier and customer during my 11 years at Alpha Technologies, and later within CE+T Power, where I was responsible for sales across DACH, the Baltics and Nordics, eventually becoming Sales Director. In May 2024, I made the transition to JEMA.

What attracted me to JEMA was the opportunity to explore new applications and channels within the power electronics industry. The focus here shifts from standardised products to customised, project-driven solutions involving larger and more complex systems. I particularly enjoy working on projects linked to future energy, science, and innovative fields such as electrolyzer power for hydrogen production or sustainable aviation fuel. The range of applications is broad, forward-looking, and intellectually stimulating; a perfect match for my curiosity.

Another important aspect for me is connecting people, both within and outside the CE+T Group. Thanks to my previous experience, I’ve built strong relationships with colleagues and customers, and I truly enjoy bringing people together, fostering collaboration, and creating value through these connections.

What drives you as Key Account Manager?

For me, the role came quite naturally. As a Key Account Manager, I am closer to the end-customers, the real projects, real applications, and real challenges. Previously, working through partners meant always having a layer in between; now I have direct insight. What motivates me is the chance to contribute to green energy and decarbonisation efforts. Being part of this movement, helping shape solutions that matter for the future, is something I truly value.

Outside of work, who is Ralf Hemecker?

Outside of work, my main passion is acting in a theater group. It allows me to escape the technical world entirely, step into different roles, and train my mind in a completely different way. It pushes me to think differently and I enjoy that.

Beyond that, I am fond of reading, traveling, meeting friends, and dining out. Travel has always been important to me, not just for holidays, but as a way to stay connected to other cultures and perspectives.

Do you have a motto to live by?

I would not say I have a strict motto, but I strongly believe in being open and genuinely interested in other people. Listening, truly listening, is essential. Looking outside the box, understanding the other person’s perspective, and not being fixated on your own opinion… those things matter. In short: Keeping an open mind opens doors.
