3x3 MW DC power supply for reverse metallurgy plasma torches

JEMA Plasma heating DC power supply
Metallurgical company Industrial Plasma Heating 3x3MW DC power supplies

How does a plasma torch work?

At the heart of this reverse metallurgy process are plasma torches powered by JEMA’s tailor-made DC power supplies.

A thermal plasma torch is powered by a DC source ranging from a few tens of kW to several MW. Gas is injected into the torch, where an electric arc generated by the DC power supply ionizes the gas and creates a plasma jet reaching temperatures between 5,000 and 10,000°C. These extreme temperatures enable highly efficient heating and material processing for demanding industrial applications.

For reverse metallurgy processes, plasma technology offers a powerful and flexible heat source capable of treating complex materials while supporting the transition toward more sustainable and circular industrial processes.
